Dubai Parks cease accepting Nol Cards for entry, prompting a switch to varied payment methods for entry.
The change follows a strategic partnership between Du and Dubai Municipality aimed at introducing innovative solutions for seamless park entry and identity management.
Park-goers can now purchase tickets using cash, credit cards, or convenient mobile payment apps for a ticketless entry experience.
Exception to the Rule: Although most parks have transitioned away from Nol card payments, Dubai’s Quranic Park remains an exception, still operating under the Nol card system.
End of an Era: The transition signifies the conclusion of an era for residents accustomed to using Nol cards, emphasizing the shift towards contemporary payment methods for park access.
Dubai Parks Cease Accepting Nol Cards
Several Dubai parks cease accepting Nol cards. Reports from residents who recently visited different Dubai localities indicated this change in payment mode.
A customer service representative at Dubai Municipality affirmed this week that the Nol card payment system has been discontinued in most Dubai parks following a partnership agreement between Du and Dubai Municipality last October.
The collaboration aims to introduce innovative solutions for ticketless entry, seamless identity management, and enhance worker satisfaction, technical skills, and sustainability in public parks.
Fahad Al Hassawi, Du’s CEO, stated during the partnership announcement,
“Through our collaboration, we seek to eliminate physical tickets, creating a cutting-edge identity management system redefining access and enjoyment of public parks.”
Exception to the Rule at Quranic Park
However, an exception to this new system exists, with ticketing at Dubai’s Quranic Park still operating via the Nol card system.
Residents expressed surprise at this change, notably at parks like Mamzar Beach Park and Zabeel Park, where the Nol card system was previously utilized for entry.
What are the updated ticketing methods available now?
Now, park visitors can purchase tickets using cash or credit cards, which are then scanned at entry machines replacing the previous Nol card terminals. Additionally, some parks like Safa Park are beginning to offer smart payment options through mobile apps like Samsung Pay, Google Pay, or Apple Pay for a seamless ticketless entry process.
