If you’re planning a visit to Dubai Mall soon there’s an important update you should be aware of as Dubai Mall relocates taxi pick up and drop off points. This change might mean you’ll need to rethink where you meet up with friends or catch a ride home.
Dubai Mall Taxi Point Relocation: What’s Changed?
Previously, many visitors to Dubai Mall preferred using the taxi point near Waitrose due to its convenient location. However, that taxi point has now been moved to a new spot at Zabeel P3. This change means that if you were accustomed to avoiding the long walk to the Metro, you’ll now have to adjust to a different meeting spot.
The new taxi drop-off and pick-up point at Zabeel P3 is located across the road from Dubai Mall. You’ll need to cross the bridge-tunnel from the Ekart Zabeel area to get to the main part of the mall. While this walk is shorter than the trek from the Dubai Metro station, it still requires a bit of planning.

Other Dubai Mall Taxi Points Remain Unchanged
The good news is that not all taxi points at Dubai Mall have moved. The popular drop-off and pick-up spot near the massive indoor waterfall remains unchanged, so you can still use that location if it’s more convenient for you.
Announcement and Additional Changes
Dubai Mall announced the taxi point change via their Instagram story on Monday, August 12. This is just one of several updates the mall has introduced recently. Earlier this year, Dubai Mall implemented parking fees for the first time, following an announcement in December 2023. The mall introduced barrier-free, ticketless parking, using Salik and vehicle plate recognition to automatically deduct fees after the first four hours, which are free. However, it’s worth noting that Zabeel and Fountain Views parking areas, where the new taxi point is located, still offer free parking.

Dubai Mall Continues to Expand
Despite these changes, Dubai Mall remains one of the largest and most popular shopping destinations in the world. In June, plans for a massive Dhs1.5 billion expansion were announced, which will add 240 new luxury retail and dining options to the already enormous mall. Spanning 1.2 million square meters, Dubai Mall is the second-largest shopping mall globally by total land area. In 2023, it was the world’s most visited retail and lifestyle destination, attracting over 105 million visitors.
So, whether you’re planning a shopping spree or a casual hangout, be sure to keep these changes in mind for a smooth and enjoyable visit to Dubai Mall.
