Sharjah Prize for Library Literature Forum
The prestigious Sharjah Prize for Library Literature Forum is set to convene on September 13 and 14, 2023, at the Sharjah Public Library in the heart of Sharjah’s Cultural Square. The event, graced by the presence of Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), promises to be a dynamic platform for insightful discussions on the theme, “Teaching, Learning, and Libraries: Strategies for Integration, Empowerment, and Exemplary Practices.” Furthermore, this forum will recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the top three winners of the 23rd edition of the prestigious Sharjah Prize for Library Literature.
Organized by Sharjah Public Library (SPL), a subsidiary of SBA, this forum will bring together a diverse assembly of experts and academics, renowned for their expertise in curating and managing knowledge content within prominent libraries, educational institutions, and cultural organizations. It will also unveil the theme for the forthcoming award edition, showcasing the forum’s commitment to adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of the library sector.

Engaging and Informative Sessions
The first day of the forum will host two engaging sessions:
- Institutional Publishing: Challenges and Solutions: An exploration of the challenges faced by libraries in the realm of publishing and innovative solutions to overcome them.
- Green Knowledge Environment and the Concept of Sustainability: A discussion focusing on creating sustainable knowledge environments and their significance in today’s world.
On the second day, attendees can look forward to a session titled:
- Teaching, Learning, and the Educational Role of Libraries: A deep dive into the pivotal role libraries play in education.
Additionally, three panel discussions will feature the award winners, where they will share their groundbreaking research, discoveries, and valuable insights. The forum will culminate with a closing speech highlighting key recommendations born out of the forum’s enriching discussions.
