The Dubai Press Club (DPC) has announced the launch of the Arab Podcast Award, the first of its kind in the region. This new award aims to recognise the talent of podcasters across the Arab world and help grow the podcasting industry.
The announcement took place during the fourth Dubai PodFest on Monday, under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. Coinciding with International Podcast Day, the event gathered more than 100 podcasters, industry experts, and representatives from leading regional and global organisations.

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, and President of DPC, said: “We are excited to launch the Arab Podcast Award as part of the Arab Media Award. This initiative is designed to celebrate innovative podcast creators in the Arab region and support the growth of this thriving sector.”
She further explained that the award was created after carefully studying the changes in the media landscape. The award aligns with Dubai’s vision to develop new media industries, encourage talent, and raise content standards in the podcasting space.
The launch of this award builds on the success of Dubai PodFest, which has been helping podcasters collaborate with leading organisations and furthering the growth of the podcast industry over the past four years.
Al Marri added,
“As the global digital content industry continues to grow, this award comes at the right time to recognise excellence in the Arab podcasting community. It will be part of the Arab Media Award, which currently recognises broadcasting, digital, and print sectors. This new category will also strengthen Dubai’s position as a hub for innovation and creativity.”
