Students and teachers at National Charity School Primary are in for a wonderful surprise when they return to school on Monday. Over the weekend, the school received a complete makeover from freshly painted murals to brand-new furniture thanks to a special effort by Dubai Cares and Alec Holdings as part of their Volunteer Emirates: School Refurbishment initiative.
Paint Murals of National Charity School
This initiative brought together volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to upgrading the school’s facilities and making the classrooms a more welcoming and inspiring place to learn. Volunteers spent their weekend assembling desks, setting up new furniture, and creating sensory rooms to support students with unique learning needs. They also turned the school’s fence into a colorful, educational mural, adding vibrancy and creativity to the school grounds.

Abdulla Alshehhi, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Cares, explained the goal behind this transformation:
“We’ve provided essential resources and equipment to create a richer and more inclusive learning environment for every student.”
National Charity School Primary Up-gradation
The upgrades included:
- 25 storage cabinets for each classroom, giving students a place to keep their belongings organized.
- 120 tables spread across all classrooms to serve the needs of 800 students, including 63 students of determination.
- New workspaces for teachers, including 12 desks, six teacher cabinets, and chairs for a productive and organized classroom environment.
One of the standout features of this refurbishment is the colorful educational murals that now adorn the school. “These murals are designed to spark creativity and curiosity among the students,” said Alshehhi.
Sensory Rooms For Students If Determination
The sensory rooms, built specifically for students of determination, received special attention. The rooms now have padded walls and floors, along with dedicated storage and sensory equipment to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students with special needs.
