Emirates and Air Canada announced the relocation of Air Canada’s operations to Dubai International’s Terminal 3 (DXB) on Wednesday, marking an important milestone in their strategic partnership. Customers transiting between the Americas on Air Canada and various destinations in the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Africa on Emirates will now enjoy a seamless and expedited experience within the same terminal.
Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, expressed delight in welcoming Air Canada to Terminal 3, emphasizing the enhanced value delivered to travelers through this move. Air Canada customers will now have the convenience of smooth connections to Emirates’ extensive global network and access to the airline’s renowned business class lounges and hub facilities in Dubai.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice-President of Network and Revenue Planning at Air Canada, praised the strategic partnership with Emirates and the significance of their flights between the UAE and Canada. This move is expected to benefit mutual customers, providing them with seamless onward connections to various destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent.
Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, expressed confidence that the relocation would streamline operations for Air Canada and optimize the airport’s efficiency, ultimately enhancing the travel experience. Dubai International’s Terminal 3 is a world-class facility designed to cater to modern travelers, featuring biometric touchpoints, comfortable waiting areas, and a wide range of dining and shopping options.
Air Canada Flight
The first inbound Air Canada flight to Terminal 3 is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, followed by the first outbound flight from Dubai to Toronto on Thursday. Dedicated Air Canada check-in counters for Signature Class will be available in the first and business class drop-off, while premium economy and economy passengers can use the main entrance. Signature Class customers and eligible Aeroplan Elite members will also have access to the Emirates business class lounge located in Terminal 3.
Since November 2022, Emirates and Air Canada have expanded their codeshare relationship to 42 routes and enhanced their interline agreement. They have also developed a reciprocal loyalty partnership, increased cooperation between their Cargo businesses, and augmented capacity into their respective hubs. Air Canada has additionally forged a partnership with Emirates’ sister-airline, flydubai.
Emirates has commenced its daily Boeing 777 service between Montreal and Dubai, complementing its expanded daily Airbus A380 schedule between Toronto and Dubai. On October 30, 2023, Air Canada will launch its new non-stop four times weekly flights between Dubai and Vancouver, operated by its flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, to complement its existing daily service between Toronto and Dubai.
Aeroplan and Skywards members can now collect and redeem points when traveling with Air Canada or Emirates, while eligible customers can enjoy priority check-in, priority boarding, and access to airport lounges.
